1960 Vintage MCM Video Village board game

This 1960 Video Village board game is well loved and has seen hours of play. The box itself is taped on the corners, and taped across the body, with a small corner missing, but the game board itself is in wonderful condition.

The player tokens and the dice are missing, as well as the $10 and $15 dollar play money bills, but the $5 and $20 are there as is the life insurance policy. The dice roller, called "The bird cage" is there, but one side has broken, which would have allowed it to swing in its cradle.

The game comes from a smoke free home

"Video Village was an American television game show which aired on the CBS network in daytime from July 11, 1960, to June 15, 1962, and in primetime from July 1 to September 16, 1960It was notable for the use of its unique "living board game" concept and for premiering soon after the quiz show scandals.

Throughout the late 1950s, viewers were riveted by a series of scandals related to TV quiz shows. The high-stakes games were extremely popular…and extremely rigged. Once the nation realized they were rooting for contestants in televised frauds, a grand jury, a congressional investigation, and even a change in communications law followed."
