This amazing set of seven glasses were produced for Bell Telephone for the 1964 World's Fair. They feature black and gold illustrations of telephone technology from 1874 through 1964. The newly invented phone, the Picturephone, was introduced at the 1964 World's Fair and is shown on the glasses.
Although the Picturephone would eventually prove to be a failure, it was very popular at the Fair. Would-be callers were chosen at random from the waiting crowd, and there was never a shortage of guests wanting to try the communication marvel of the future.
There are some sections of gold paint that has chipped, which I've shown in the photos, so it's best to NOT put these in the dishwasher. (I didn't put them in the dishwasher)
The glasses are 5-1/2 inches tall with no chips and come from a smoke free home.
